Meet Fred
Fred is a Fawn and Black Great Dane
Fred is a Fawn and Black Great Dane (although grey is the predominant colour now). He’s six and a half years old and I got him from the Great Dane Charity “Daneline” when he was three. He’d had a tough life before and was in fairly poor condition. He doesn’t beg and we discourage feeding him lest he learn to beg. He’s absolutely totally forgiving of children and women, sometimes wary of men, due to his history and more than a tad wary of small aggressive dogs introduced to him whilst he’s asleep. He avoids trouble at all costs though and will weave all around the bar, to avoid another dog.
Fred is borrowed regularly by different nursing homes as a pat dog and many residents take him for a walk for a little company. He’s just over 10st and taller than me at 6’2” when on his back legs. He appeared on bargain hunt two years ago being walked around town by Tim Wonnacott.
