The Goods Shed

Half a century after the Tetbury Station closed, and twenty years after regeneration efforts began, Tetbury Goods Shed is back in business.

Take in a show at The Goods Shed – Within walking distance of The Snooty Fox is a brand new 180 seater performance venue, arts centre and exhibition space featuring live music, theatre, comedy and dance, art exhibitions and creative workshops. The building was transformed in 2016 from a Victorian railway goods shed, and still retains much of its character. There is a cafe, toilets and disabled access. Tickets for any performances can be purchased online at www.shed-arts.co.uk or from Tetbury Tourist Information Centre.

Go for a walk in the glorious Cotswold countryside. We have maps at reception and can send you on your way with a picnic or packed lunch.

Malmesbury Abbey

The Abbey is at the centre of Malmesbury and can be seen for miles around. A Monastery was first established on the site around 676 but the present building dates from the 12th century, and was consecrated about 1180. One of the most notable features surviving from that period is the south porch with its magnificent Norman arch containing carvings depicting Bible stories. There is also a fine vaulted roof to the nave

Ian & Barbara Pollard aka The Naked Gardeners bought Abbey House in 1994 to make it their home for their family of three children and in the autumn of 1996 decided to create a garden that might attract visitors from around the world to the historic town of Malmesbury.

Painswick

This historic wool town known as ‘The Queen of the Cotswolds’, is one of the finest and best-preserved Cotswolds settlements, nestling quietly in the hills and surrounded by some of Gloucestershire’s most delightful countryside. Also renowned as the location for the TV series The Casual Vacancy.

Visit Regency Cheltenham followed by lunch or dinner at our popular pub, the Beehive in Montpellier. Cheltenham Spa is England’s most complete Regency town and is characterized by intricate ironwork balconies and painted stucco facades that line the historic Promenade, squares and terraces.
